FAQ's

1. Where is Stuart Mitchell’s Comedy Club?
The comedy club is located in Blackfriars of Bell Street, Glasgow. You can find out more here.

2. Is there an age restriction?
Blackfriars and Stuart Mitchell’s Comedy Club are strictly over 18s venues.

3. Is there food and drink available?
Yes to both and a fine selection there is too. You can see all that’s on offer in Blackfriars Food & Drink section.

4. Can I book a table to eat before the show?
Please don’t eat our tables. You can book online on Blackfriars website but please book a time that will comfortably allow you to enjoy your meal before the show.

5. Can I take my food and drink in to the show?
Food no, but you absolutely can take your drinks bought from the bar in and there’s a 20 minute interval where the Comedy Club bar will be open to wet your whistle too. Please note, only food and drink purchased in the venue is allowed.

6. What time should I arrive for the show?
Doors open between 15-30 minutes before the show starts but as seats are unreserved queuing can start earlier. We recommend arriving at least 30–60 minutes before showtime giving you ample time to get in, have a few drinks, find good seats and chill before the comedians start.

7. How long does the show last?
Shows run at approximately 1 hour 40 minutes including a 20 minute interval.

8. How do I gain access to the show?
Blackfriars is a beautiful old listed building steeped in and full of Glasgow history and the banter. The Comedy Club is in the basement level which requires to go down stairs. If you feel that you may need some extra help or want to check your accessibility requirements for both Blackfriars Pub and Stuart Mitchell’s Comedy Club please contact the venue directly via contact@blackfriarsglasgow.co.uk

9. I’ve had 15 vodkas and a pint of wine, will I be allowed in?
Listen, we get it. We’re Scottish, we love a drink on an afternoon/evening and we love a joke. However the venue has the right to refuse entry or even ask you to leave the show if you appear too under the influence and are causing a nuisance as a result. And that would be a pure riddy.

10. I can’t find my tickets, how do I get in to the show?
Dinnae fash, we use a guest list on the door so even if you can’t find your tickets or booking details, all we need is the name the order was made under and you’ll be good to go.

11. I booked tickets for my pal, do they need to give my name?
Yes as the guest lists contain the details of the person who made the original order. Alternatively you can change the name on an order by emailing hello@stuartmitchell.co.uk.

12. I can no longer attend the show I’ve booked for, can I have a refund or swap dates?
Unfortunately due to demand tickets are non-refundable or transferable. Soz.

13. Can I record or take pictures during the show?
We’d rather you didn’t and would prefer phones and devices to be switched off during the show. It can distract the comedians and other guests and we’d much prefer for you to enjoy the top notch comedy live in front of you and not through a wee lens.

14. Hold on, isn’t that a camera I see at the front?
Yes, but that’s ours and it’s all for the tikky-tokky. If you don’t want to be filmed for use on Stuart’s social media then please don’t sit near the front, or if this isn’t an option and all available seats are filled please let a member of staff know prior to the show.

15. Help, a comedian is talking to me! What should I do??
Relax! Comedians and particularly Stuart love a blether with the audience and crowd work is part of many shows. If a comedian picks you out, just be a good sport, laugh along and keep it light. Alternatively if being spoken to during the show sounds like the seventh circle of hell to you, then again we’d recommend sitting away from the front.

16. I’ve got something brilliant and hilarious to say, should I shout it out during the show?
We love a bit of banter and we know Glasgow is full of it, but please be mindful of the comedians performing and those around you before getting involved. On a serious note heckling or being disruptive is not encouraged and could get you removed from the venue if it starts ruining the show for others. Again, another pure riddy.

17. I’ve got a question that’s not been answered here, how do I get in touch?
For all other enquiries please contact hello@stuartmitchell.co.uk.
